Jaclyn Brunson- Mrs. Madison County

Mrs. Madison County - Jaclyn Brunson with some local Veterans at
the Veterans Day parade.

Mrs. Idaho - Boise Tree Lighting

My family and I spent Monday evening at the beautiful Capital Building for the tree lighting ceremony. It was hosted by Governor Butch Otter and his wife Lori Otter.  They served hot chocolate and cookies and we were serenaded by Cecil D. Andrus Elementary's choir. We love the holidays and it was a great way to kick it off by seeing the giant tree at the Capital's steps lit!

Mrs. Idaho & Mrs. Eagle PowerUp Live

I had to opportunity to attend the PowerUp Live event with the beautiful Mrs. Eagle Melonnie Northcut and Jamie Hilton Mrs. Idaho 2009.  The goal for the PowerUp Live event was to empower people to take their lives to a whole new level of success with a jam packed day of motivational speakers like Steve Forbes, Kristin Armstrong, Sarah Palin and Rudy Guliani. One of the speakers Lisa Mcinnes-Smith said, "If you change what you believe, you change your reality" what great words of wisdom!  It was my first appearance as Mrs. Idaho and I couldn't have asked for a better event!

Mrs. Idaho & Mrs. Capital City - Comedy for a Cure

Comedy for a Cure was put together to raise money for the St. Lukes Children's Hospital Child Life Specialist program.  Child Life Specialists do play talk therapy with kids that are battling cancer or other serious diseases and help them cope during their stay at the hospital.  We were able to hear from a family who's 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia and they talked about how much comfort and support the specialist gave to not only their daughter but the whole family.

The whole idea behind the event is that laughter is the best medicine.  So while we were there raising money for a great cause through a mystery wine sale, a silent auction and live auction, we were treated to a few hours of comedy!  It was a great night, spent with great people and lots of laughter!

Mrs. Capital City - Heather Quisel and I with Demi who has been a patient at St. Lukes and worked with the child life specialist and she knows why the program is so important. What a sweet girl and you are in our prayers!

Mrs. Capital City and I working the mystery wine sale table.  We had a blast watching people pick out their wine from a table of bottles wrapped in paper bags. They took it so seriously and acted as if there was an actual science behind picking the best bottle!

Mrs. Idaho & Mrs. Capital City - 1st Annual Hemophilia Walk

Mrs. Capital City-Heather Quisel and I got to participate in the 1st Annual Hemophilia Walk on October 20th.  We started with Zumba in the park then did a 1 mile walk. There were groups on the walk that had orange flags that said who they were walking for.  It was really neat to see family and friends rally around a loved one whether they were older or a child.  We had a great time!
